COVID-19 came out of nowhere and has affected all of us in one way or another. The wedding & events industry has been particularly hit pretty hard and our heart goes out to all of the couples who have been forced with the decision to postpone their wedding. As past brides ourselves, we remember counting down the days in anticipation of what was the best day ever.

We can totally put ourselves in your shoes and empathize with you right now.

As wedding planners, we are one of the first vendors our couples reach out to for advice on what they should do in this situation. We know that whatever decision you plan to make, it may be a difficult one.

Rest assured, our team will do whatever it takes to make your wedding a success, whether that is modifying it to meet your needs or rescheduling it if you'd like to postpone. Whatever you need, we're here for you. Your safety and well-being, and making sure we figure out the best way to make your wedding memorable are our top priorities. Remember, at the end of the day, we’re all in this together. With that being said, we wanted to share our thoughts and advice regarding some of the most common questions we are asked during this time. Going forward, we will continue to add more frequently asked questions to this page so keep checking back in the coming weeks for more information!

Frequently Asked Questions Relating to COVID & Weddings

What size weddings are you working with for the 2021 season?

We have chosen to work with weddings and events with guest lists of up to 50. We feel this is in alignment with the local regulations and with our comfort for our safety as a small business and your safety as our clients.

We're under 50 guests. Do you have any other requirements?

Yes! We are asking our couples to follow county regulations with mask mandates and gathering limitations. We will follow this closely and stay in regular contact as this progresses as well. We are asking our couples to offer COVID-19 tests to any in attendance at their wedding, including vendors. There are local services that offer day of testing right to your home. For those vaccinated, at this time, we are still asking for testing as we will not manage collection of proof of vaccination.

What is your stance on refunds?

We do not offer refunds. We continue to approach each event on a case-by-case basis to best support our couples and to find a situation that works for all involved. As everything is so uncertain, all we know we can say with certainty is that our stance is to continue to work to support our couples. As it is so hard to predict what will happen, we offer rescheduled events (postponements), alternative events, adjusted locations, etc as the need arises. The scheduled payments we receive, including the deposit, work to pay our overhead, business fees, insurance, and time.

Our hope is always that you would never have to cancel your wedding and would still be able to look toward it with excitement and hope; as things arise we are very available to our couples to discuss best options, how to move forward, etc.

How do I know if postponing my wedding is the right decision for me?

We are working with our couples individually on a case-by-case basis and encourage you to reach out to us directly as soon as you become concerned. We are doing everything in our power to support our couples and fulfill all of our obligations at a later date.

How far out should I postpone my wedding?

Currently, we are seeing couples postponing into late 2021. We are working within the guidance of our local venues and our region.

If I postpone my wedding, will I still be able to work with all of my vendors?

We hope that your amazing vendor team will all be available on your new date; however, sometimes that unfortunately will not be the case. Just know that your vendors have your best interest in this situation. We still want to work with you no matter what you decide to do. One of the first things you’ll want to do when deciding to postpone your wedding is reach out to your venue to see what dates they have available. Once you decide on a preferred date, reach out to your vendor team to check with them on availability. Most vendors will be willing to work with you and will transfer your deposit to the new date (assuming they have availability). Again, we’re all in this together!

Save the dates: We are getting ready to send out our save the dates for our June 2021 wedding in the next month or two. Should we send a save the date to ALL of the guests on our list or only send one to those on our modified guest list in which we’ve put together based on current restrictions?

Our advice is to plan as you normally would, but communicate with your guests. So, sending out save the dates to everyone on your guest list is ok, but make sure to include an insert that you are monitoring COVID-19 closely and will communicate via your wedding website about future plans. Be sure to include a link to your wedding website as well. In the chance you do need to unfortunately trim your guest list next year, we hope and expect your guests to be completely understanding given the situation.

Help! I recently sent out my wedding invitations and have now chosen to postpone my wedding.

If you’ve already sent out your invitations you can simply send out a postponement announcement (physical or via email) designed by your stationer and update guests on all of the new information. Your guests will totally understand. Be sure to update your wedding website as well.
